Job Summary

The University of Ottawa is seeking a highly skilled and experienced costume and set design professor to join our faculty. As a key member of our theatre department, you will be responsible for designing and teaching courses in costume and set design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and teach courses in costume and set design, including lectures, workshops, and studio classes.
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the University of Ottawa's theatre program goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to develop and implement interdisciplinary courses and projects.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to students in the costume and set design program.
  • Stay current with industry trends and developments in costume and set design.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in costume and set design or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in costume and set design, with a strong track record of professional achievement.
  • Excellent teaching and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other faculty members and staff.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in costume and set design or a related field.
  • Experience teaching at the university level.
  • Publication record in costume and set design.
  • Professional membership in a relevant industry organization.
