Job Summary
The University of Ottawa is seeking a highly skilled and experienced costume and set design professor to join our faculty. As a key member of our theatre department, you will be responsible for designing and teaching courses in costume and set design.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and teach courses in costume and set design, including lectures, workshops, and studio classes.
- Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the University of Ottawa's theatre program goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with other faculty members to develop and deliver interdisciplinary courses and projects.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to students in the costume and set design program.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in costume and set design.
Requirements
- Master's degree in costume and set design or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in costume and set design, with a strong track record of professional achievement.
- Excellent teaching and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in costume and set design or a related field.
- Experience teaching at the university level.
- Strong connections to the theatre industry, with a network of professional contacts and collaborations.
