Overview


The Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electricity System Specialist to join our team.


This role will involve working with various stakeholders to design, develop, and implement software applications that support the reliable operation of the power system and other corporate needs.

This position requires a strong academic knowledge of computer science and associated subjects, as well as hands-on experience with Java and Spring/SpringBoot Framework. The selected individual may be required to be on-call to support applications 24x7 on a periodic basis.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Develop and test integrated computer-based information solutions for business and operations processes.
  • Conduct analysis of customer requirements, the production of functional specifications, and the development of a satisfactory information solution.
  • Oversight of existing information systems and tools related to market operation, supply, security, and settlement services.
  • Identification of opportunities for information solutions that will provide effective and economic benefits for customers.
  • Project management support to projects or teams involved in the expansion and improvement of information systems and tools.
  • Maintenance of a close customer relationship and identification of potential improvements to existing systems.

Requirements:



  • Strong analytical and communications skills (verbal/written).
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and independently in a team environment.
  • Deadline-oriented individual with proven excellent customer service skills.
  • Demonstrates a strong personal commitment to customer needs and corporate objectives.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year
