Accounting Manager Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager to join our team in Westchester, IL (USA) or Burnaby, British Columbia (Canada). The successful candidate will serve as a senior accounting professional to support the North America Accounting team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the financial close process of certain North American subsidiaries, including review of financial statements, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare Income Statement and Balance Sheet variance reports.
  • Assist in executing and maintaining relevant internal controls in accordance with SOX.
  • Assist in managing internal and external audits.
  • Support the Controller's team and other business partners with ad hoc analyses and projects.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
  • Assist in managing certain accounting systems and processes, including Great Plains.
  • Lead or participate in special projects as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Experience with Great Plains and Oracle.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge and understanding of Accounting principles and practices and regulations, including US GAAP and SOX Compliance.
  • Understanding of requirements for documentation in work papers, disclosures, and memos, with a demonstrated ability to document a broad range of technical issues.
  • Effective project management skills.
  • Commitment to highest standards of quality and integrity, along with a high degree of professionalism.
  • Limited travel may be required.
