About the Opportunity

We are seeking experienced English writers to help train generative artificial intelligence models. This is a remote, flexible freelance opportunity that allows you to work at your own pace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and evaluate English text to assess the quality of AI-generated responses
  • Write and rewrite prompts and responses, requiring research and fact-checking skills
  • Assess the factuality and relevance of text produced by AI models
Desirable Expertise
  • Professional writing or editing experience
  • Education in a writing-related field from a selective institution
  • Strong writing style, exceptional English language skills, and logic and reasoning abilities
  • Attention to detail and ability to explain the strengths and weaknesses of a given piece of text
Compensation

Pay rates vary based on expertise, skills assessment, location, and project need. Current rates for core project work in the US average USD $15 per hour, with estimated rates up to £11/hr in the UK and CAD $20/hr in Canada.

Please review the payment terms for each project, as rates may vary. Certain projects offer incentive payments.

This is a 1099 contract opportunity on the Outlier.ai platform. Because this is a freelance opportunity, we do not offer internships, sponsorship, or employment. You must be authorized to work in your country of residence. If you are an international student, you may be able to sign up for Outlier if you are on a visa. You should contact your tax and/or immigration advisor with specific questions regarding your circumstances.
