We are seeking a dedicated and experienced lawyer to join our team at the Canadian Centre for Housing Rights. As a key member of our Client Services team, you will play a vital role in advancing the right to housing for all individuals in Ontario.
Key Responsibilities- Represent tenants before the Landlord and Tenant Board of Ontario, providing expert advice and advocacy to ensure their rights are protected.
- Engage in mediation and negotiation with housing providers to resolve disputes and find mutually beneficial solutions.
- Conduct research and analysis to stay up-to-date on Ontario housing law and its implications for our clients.
- Develop and implement effective case management strategies to ensure timely and efficient resolution of client matters.
- Collaborate with our Policy and Law Reform team to inform and influence housing policy and legislation.
- Lawyer called to the Bar of Ontario and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience providing legal services related to housing to low-income clients in Ontario.
- Strong understanding of Ontario housing law and its application in practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure, with attention to detail and deadlines.
