Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Academic Leader to join our team as a Principal Research Chair in Indigenous Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading research initiatives and developing strategic partnerships with Indigenous communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement research projects that address the health needs of Indigenous populations
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with Indigenous communities and organizations
  • Supervise and mentor graduate students and postdoctoral fellows
  • Contribute to the development of curriculum and educational programs that promote Indigenous health and well-being
  • Engage in scholarly activities, including publishing research papers and presenting at conferences
Requirements
  • PhD in nursing or a related health discipline
  • Experience in research and teaching, with a focus on Indigenous health
  • Strong track record of publication and presentation in academic journals and conferences
  • Ability to work effectively with Indigenous communities and organizations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives
  • Experience in curriculum development and educational program planning
  • Knowledge of Indigenous cultures and health-related issues
