Job Overview

Ubisoft is seeking a highly skilled Senior Gameplay Animator to join our team. As a key member of our animation department, you will be responsible for creating engaging and immersive gameplay experiences for our players.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create animation systems for the player in First Person view, as well as the equivalent replication animation (3rd person), ensuring that animation and feel align with the visual language set by the Animation Director and respect game design constraints;
  • Develop and implement keyframe animations for player movements, taking into account game design requirements and technical guidelines;
  • Work closely with the technical director, technical animator, designers, and programmers to integrate animations and ensure seamless gameplay experiences;
  • Collaborate with fellow animators, animation director, programmers, and designers to deliver high-quality animations and meet project deadlines;
  • Test and review animation systems in the game to ensure they meet quality standards;
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of game mechanics, animation principles, and technical requirements to create engaging and realistic gameplay experiences;
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies to continuously improve animation techniques and workflows;
  • Participate in team meetings, provide feedback, and contribute to the development of animation strategies and workflows;

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in video game animation or equivalent;
  • At least one shipped game with a strong focus on gameplay animation;
  • First-person game animation experience is highly preferred;
  • Proficiency in animation software such as Motion Builder, 3ds Max, or Maya;
  • Experience with keyframe animation and ability to create complex animations;
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams;
  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities;
  • Passion for creating engaging and immersive gameplay experiences;
