About the RoleThe successful candidate will provide psychological assessments, treatments, and education to patients with chronic health conditions, mental illnesses, and addiction. They will work collaboratively with healthcare providers, researchers, and educators to develop and implement evidence-based clinical practice guidelines, pathways, and protocols.
Responsibilities- Conduct brief psychological assessments using standardized and evidence-based interview and assessment procedures.
- Develop and facilitate group-based treatment programs.
- Maintain electronic and paper patient records by documenting assessment findings, treatment plans, client participation, and treatment progress outcomes.
- Coordinate with medical and mental health providers to ensure comprehensive care for clients requiring higher levels of assessment and treatment.
- Provide continuing education to physicians and other healthcare providers to increase community capacity and understanding of behavioral and cognitive contributors to health outcomes.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of psychological treatments and provide recommendations for new program development.
- Liaise with referring physicians and other professionals regarding clients' total care.
- Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from a recognized and accredited learning institution.
- Current registration with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia or registration within one year of employment.
- Two years recent related experience working in primary care or similar settings, including experience with leading psychological interventions, consultation, and interdisciplinary teamwork with chronic health and mental health patients.
A competitive salary range of $96,000-$123,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
