Fleet Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Department Manager to join our team at J.D. Irving, Limited. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in supporting our store operation in a designated region.
The successful candidate will have a strong interest in learning and growing within the organization, and will be adept at effectively creating, implementing, and directing policies, objectives, and initiatives that affect our shipping department and fleet processes.
Key Responsibilities- Optimize Fleet Operations: Develop and implement strategies to optimize the flow of deliveries in our largest markets, ensuring maximum efficiency and minimal delays.
- Support Shipping Department: Collaborate with the shipping department and operations team to identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements.
- Manage Logistics Costs: Develop and implement strategies to control or reduce operational costs, striving to achieve the lowest delivered cost of goods.
- Optimize Asset Utilization: Develop and implement strategies to optimize the utilization of assets, including facilities, vehicles, and operations equipment.
- Drive Operational Excellence: Ensure that all fleet operations are conducted in a safe and efficient manner, meeting or exceeding health and safety standards.
- Manage Fleet Budget: Assist in the development and implementation of fleet budget and initiatives, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with drivers, shippers, and all levels of management to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
- Strong Supply Chain Knowledge: Possess a strong understanding of supply chain management principles and practices.
- Logistics Experience: Have experience in warehouse operations, business improvement processes, and logistics management.
- Advanced Computer Skills: Possess advanced computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites.
- Exceptional Communication Skills: Possess exceptional interpersonal, management, and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Results-Driven: Be a results-driven individual with a strong focus on achieving goals and objectives.
- Post-Secondary Education: Possess a post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
