Job Description


As a Clinical Care Specialist for Communication and Swallowing Disorders, you will provide clinical care services for residents/clients with communication and/or swallowing disorders. You will be an integral member of an interdisciplinary team responsible for providing direct care and consultations to enhance, maintain, improve, or restore the client/resident's ability to function at an optimal level.


You will plan, direct, deliver, and evaluate services through direct assessment, interventions, consultations, and assignment of task components to Rehabilitation Assistants. This position also may provide training to Continuing Care Staff and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications



  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Current registration or licensure with a Canadian Professional regulatory body for Speech-Language Pathology
  • Experience as a Speech Language Pathologist providing assessments and treatments in a community environment and/or long-term care setting is an asset
  • Experience supervising support staff is an asset

Relocation assistance may be available. A valid Class 5 Driver's License and current registration with a Canadian Speech-Language Pathology regulatory body are required. TB screening, CPR level C (obtained within the past 18 months), Vulnerable Sector RCMP Security Clearance, and Food Safe certification are also required.



Other Information


This position requires exposure to animals in the Pet Therapy program and secondhand smoke. Travel within the territory may be necessary.
