Operations Supervisor

FortisBC is seeking a seasoned Operations Supervisor to oversee our Kootenay region. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of natural gas to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of unionized employees to meet daily requirements, commitments, and projects.
  • Familiarize yourself with software and applications used to schedule and complete deliverables on time and within budget.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels in collaboration with internal resources.
  • Manage contracted services in accordance with established terms and conditions.
  • Participate in the recruitment process, interview, and select new employees to the team.
  • Coach, mentor, and support your team to enhance performance, quality of work, and ongoing training and development.
  • Utilize your field experience and technical knowledge to solve work-related problems and collaborate with others.
  • Travel to work sites to provide quality oversight and maintain compliance with work and industry standards.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy workplace for your team and others.
Requirements:
  • Five years of management experience with a focus on natural gas infrastructure.
  • Previous experience in construction, underground utilities, and emergency response is an asset.
  • A passion for developing quality solutions with a safety-focused mindset.
  • A collaborative and inclusive approach to strengthening connections in the workplace.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
