About the Role:

The Assistant Manager, Branch Communications is a key member of the Branch Change Management and Communications team within the Advice & Service Effectiveness department at Scotiabank. This role is responsible for delivering consistent, relevant, and timely communications to the Canadian Branch Banking network, supporting employees in delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all required publishing activities for online communications to the branches, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Work with partners to resolve and troubleshoot any problems or concerns related to communications.
  • Support business line partners by managing the publication process for branch communications, including monitoring communications and acting as a Subject Matter Expert.
  • Identify opportunities for process and technical improvement, proposing solutions to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Source value-added feedback from partners and stakeholders to enhance the publishing process.
  • Adhere to internally approved publishing protocols, ensuring appropriate signoffs and verification prior to publication.
  • Manage the Branch Communications publishing calendar to ensure prioritization and timely delivery of initiatives.
  • Support the Senior Manager, Branch Communications and the broader Advice & Service Effectiveness team on training initiatives, projects, and events as required.
  • Understand and apply Scotiabank's risk appetite and risk culture in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles.
  • Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of progressive communications experience in a dedicated communications role, ideally within the financial industry.
  • Demonstrate high levels of organizational, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with above-average writing and editorial skills.
  • Superior organization, time management, prioritization, and proactive problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven track record of operating collaboratively and delivering measurable outcomes in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of PowerPoint, Yammer, and design programs such as Photoshop.
  • Strong MS Office skills, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in French is an asset.
  • Demonstrated collaborative and interpersonal skills in working with a variety of people and ability to work independently and within a larger team.
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint or similar content management system is an asset.
  • Knowledge of CP style is an asset.
