Restaurant Manager Job Description
The Restaurant Manager is a key member of our team, responsible for overseeing the bar and beverage program. This includes creating and maintaining standards, driving sales through promotions and building relationships with suppliers. Additionally, the Restaurant Manager is accountable for the day-to-day operations of the restaurant bar, including staffing, cost controls, staff training, budgeting, administration, and active floor management.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the bar and beverage program, including cocktails, beers, garnishing, and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Lead training in advanced mixology techniques.
- Create and maintain service and operational standards for the bar, utilizing best practices and efficiencies.
- Lead the creation and maintenance of cocktail lists, including new and innovative products and combinations, while considering costing and speed requirements.
- Liaise with beverage suppliers to source new products, promotions, and improved pricing.
- Communicate the vision to team members, lead by example, and reinforce O&B values daily.
- Build and maintain relationships with guests, team members, and senior management.
- Demonstrate high personal integrity, business ethics, and promote the venue.
- Utilize conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Strive for maximum efficiency and continual improvement of staff productivity.
- Additional duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in mixology and cocktail program creation.
- WSET Intermediate Wine Certificate or comparable an asset.
- Experience working in both fine dining and casual restaurant bar environments is preferred.
- Extensive beverage knowledge, including traditional cocktails and new, on-trend beverages.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate extreme organization in a fast-paced environment while acting as a team player.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong business acumen and inventory control.
