Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Operations Supervisor to join our team in Atlantic Canada. This role will focus on coordinating day-to-day marine operations and project logistics, ensuring the successful execution of daily offshore operational tasks, implementing new operations, and supporting the team in identifying additional opportunities.

About the Role

This Marine Operations Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing daily offshore vessel operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with regulations.
  • Coordinating vessel schedules, routes, and cargo operations to optimize fleet utilization.
  • Managing and tracking vessel performance, fuel consumption, and maintenance schedules.
  • Developing and implementing standard operating procedures for marine logistics operations.
  • Identifying transactions and tasks needing special handling, proposing process improvements to management, and implementing solutions within your assigned responsibilities.
  • Ensuring compliance with maritime laws, environmental regulations, and company policies.
  • Managing inventory and logistics for offshore supplies, equipment, and personnel transfers.
  • Analyzing operational data to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.
  • Preparing and maintaining accurate documentation, including logs, reports, and regulatory filings.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior staff in the marine operations department.
  • Collaborating with other departments to align vessel operations with overall project goals.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years of operational experience in a similar role (vessel operation, project logistics with a focus on marine operations or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of marine and road cargo transport regulations, dangerous goods (IMDG code), transport Canada and regulatory boards.
  • Knowledge of warehousing operations, inventory management, and cycle counts considered an asset.
