About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Marine Officer to lead our operations at the Marine Institute. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic oversight and managing our resources to achieve our goals.
Your primary responsibilities will include promoting pedagogical excellence, advancing research initiatives, and strengthening our reputation as a global leader in marine education and research.
You will work closely with our Executive Committee, Industry Advisory Committee, and other Vice-Presidents to drive transformational change and foster a collaborative environment that promotes excellence in research, education, and industry training.

Requirements
- Demonstrated academic leadership and research experience
- Significant senior leadership experience, including superior financial, organizational, and analytical skills
- An ability to balance consultation with sound decision-making
- A collegial and collaborative style, with excellent communication and motivator skills
- An understanding of regulatory bodies, environmental policies, and maritime law

About You
- An earned doctorate or Ph.D., preferably in a research-based marine or maritime-related field, or an equivalent combination of education and maritime industry experience
- A proven track record of leadership and innovation in the maritime industry
- An ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, and industry partners
