We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join our team as a Site Operations Specialist. This is a unique opportunity to build a solid foundation for your career in the unionized construction industry.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating assigned project(s) from start to finish, adhering to schedule, specifications, and budget. Key focus areas include safety, planning, monitoring progress, scheduling, quality, costs management, estimating, reporting, and managing project change under senior leadership.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership for assigned project regarding cost, schedule, quality, safety, and contract performance.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards according to company policy and contract specifications.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with stakeholders, including Black & McDonald team members, clients, consultants, joint venture partners, trades, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and the community, keeping them informed of relevant information.
  • Plan, prepare, monitor, and manage construction schedules and milestones.
  • Evaluate work performed to ensure compliance with applicable standards, such as HSE regulations, company policies, and contract requirements.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, labor productivity, work outcomes, budget, cost, and forecast.
  • Prepare and submit project estimates and negotiate changes in scope as required.
  • Develop contracts and negotiate revisions, additions, and deletions to contractual agreements with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and consultants.
  • Identify areas of risk and correct deficiencies in work/contracts/WIP.
  • Ensure material and equipment availability to tradespersons.
  • Accurately complete monthly cost forecasting and checklists on time.
Competency Requirements:

To excel in this role, you must possess strong communication, customer focus, self-accountability, problem-solving, teamwork, and innovation skills. Additionally, you should have strategic perspective, business performance maximization, and team effectiveness abilities.

Education Requirements:

An education in Project Management, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or Red Seal Electrical Journeyperson certification is essential.

Work Experience Requirements:

A minimum of 5 years of Project Management experience in the unionized construction industry working on large-scale electrical ICI projects is necessary.

Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements:

You should have intermediate knowledge of construction estimation, scheduling, planning, and execution, as well as established division practices, procedures, and techniques. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project), Accubid, JD Edwards, or Oracle-based ERP systems is beneficial.
