Makami Engineering Group Limited is a leading engineering consulting firm based in Sudbury, Ontario, providing expert services to industrial clients across Northern Ontario. Our team of experienced structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers and designers deliver high-quality projects in the industrial, commercial, and transportation sectors.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Specialist to join our Sudbury office on a full-time basis.

  • Travel to client sites, attend project meetings, and conduct field reviews to ensure project success.
  • Develop and implement advanced mechanical engineering techniques and concepts.
  • Create conceptual designs, preliminary designs, and detailed designs, including calculations, layouts, sketches, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Review and verify technical documents prepared by others to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Work independently, making decisions and taking responsibility for technical matters.
  • Comply with QA procedures and produce high-quality work.
  • Manage projects effectively, delivering on-time and on-budget results.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • 5-15 years of mechanical design experience, preferably in the industrial and/or mining sectors.
  • Ability to work at industrial sites and adhere to safety regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in the Microsoft suite of programs.
