About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Leader to join our team at Southbridge Care Homes. As a key member of our nursing department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality of care for our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement nursing department initiatives and functions to enhance resident care and satisfaction.
  • Lead the coordination and implementation of best practice and risk management initiatives related to resident care, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
  • Effectively manage the utilization of nursing supplies to optimize resources and minimize waste.
  • Maintain a comprehensive system of care assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation at the resident and unit program level.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Investigate and address occupational health and safety concerns, working collaboratively with WSIB claims and return-to-work plans.
  • Participate in special projects, reviews, and initiatives to drive quality improvement and innovation.
  • Assume responsibility for the nursing department, ensuring seamless operations and effective communication.

Requirements

  • Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse.
  • A genuine passion for caring for seniors and a commitment to delivering exceptional care.
  • Experience with WSIB management and occupational health and safety, with a focus on falls and harm reduction strategies.
  • Previous experience in long-term care is an asset, with a comprehensive understanding of duties and responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and comprehension skills, with the ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Developed creative problem-solving skills to address complex challenges and prioritize tasks effectively.
