Building Quality Assurance Specialist

At Egis Canada Ltd-CA, we are seeking a talented professional to join our Building Quality Assurance team as a Building Quality Assurance Specialist.

This role will be responsible for performing drawing reviews, periodic field and mock-up reviews, preparing and reviewing reports, and conducting on-site testing to validate the performance of building enclosures.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, time management and organizational skills, and proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing drawing reviews (architectural, specifications, shop drawings, and material submittals, etc.);
  • Preparing and reviewing reports and communicating the results of reviews to the client, including meetings with clients as needed;
  • Conducting on-site testing to validate the performance of building enclosures, including assessments for water and air leakage and guard rail systems;
  • Assisting builders and developers in addressing new construction methods, deficiencies, or responding to claims of deficiencies;
  • Identifying targets and meeting new potential clients in support of our business development;
  • Performing other duties as assigned within the Buildings Group.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering, Building Science, Architectural Science;
  • Knowledge of Building Science Principles and Building Envelope Technologies considered an asset;
  • 3-5 years of experience in residential/commercial/industrial construction and/or building assessments;
  • Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) or Building Science Specialist (BSS) designation or working towards obtaining would be considered an asset;
  • Excellent verbal & written communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities within a growing organization;
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including, MS Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint;
  • Must have a valid G driver's license, access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance to travel.
