Building Quality Assurance Specialist

As a key member of our Building Quality Assurance team at Egis Canada Ltd-CA, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of quality in residential and commercial construction projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough reviews of architectural drawings, specifications, and shop drawings to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations;
  • Performing periodic field and mock-up reviews to identify and address any quality control issues, and documenting the results of these reviews;
  • Preparing and reviewing reports to communicate the findings of these reviews to clients, including presentations and meetings as needed;
  • Conducting on-site testing to validate the performance of building enclosures, including assessments for water and air leakage and guard rail systems;
  • Collaborating with builders and developers to address new construction methods, deficiencies, or claims of deficiencies;
  • Assisting in the development of business opportunities and identifying new potential clients to support the growth of our business;
  • Performing other duties as assigned within the Buildings Group, including administrative tasks and project coordination;

Requirements for this role include:

  • Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering, Building Science, or a related field;
  • Knowledge of Building Science Principles and Building Envelope Technologies considered an asset;
  • 3-5 years of experience in residential/commercial/industrial construction and/or building assessments;
  • Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) or Building Science Specialist (BSS) designation or working towards obtaining would be considered an asset;
  • Health & Safety training requirements in construction projects would be considered an asset;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities within a growing organization;
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including MS Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint;
  • Valid G driver's license, access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance for travel purposes.
