Job Summary

The Government of Saskatchewan is seeking a skilled Shop Manager to oversee the daily operations of its Weyburn Repair Depot. As a key member of the Fleet Operations team, you will be responsible for leading a team of technicians and ensuring the efficient maintenance and repair of the provincial fleet of equipment and vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and manage a team of technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful completion of tasks and projects.
  • Work Coordination: Coordinate daily shop activities, prioritize tasks, and allocate resources to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, monitor expenditures, and develop strategies to optimize productivity and minimize costs.
  • Staff Development: Recruit, select, and develop staff members, providing training and coaching to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and submit reports on shop activities, inventory levels, and staff performance, providing insights and recommendations to improve operations.
Requirements
  • Leadership and Management: Proven leadership and management skills, with experience in supervising teams and managing resources.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of maintenance and repair procedures, as well as inventory management and control.
  • Communication and Interpersonal: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues, and make informed decisions.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with occasional overnight travel to other locations in the province.
