Salary & Benefits

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary ranging from $110,000 to $135,000 annually, plus benefits including medical, dental, life, and disability coverage, as well as a comprehensive vacation package and 3 float days. Participation in the OMERS Defined Benefit Pension Plan with employer contributions matched 100% is also offered.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled philanthropic leader to join our team as Director, Major Gifts. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with major donors, securing significant gifts to support our programs and services, and contributing to the development of strategic fundraising plans. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in major gift fundraising, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and stakeholders.

  • Major Gift Fundraising: Develop and execute strategies to secure major gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations to support our programs and services.
  • Donor Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with major donors, ensuring their needs and interests are met and their investments in our organization yield maximum impact.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development of strategic fundraising plans that align with our organizational goals and objectives.
Required Skills & Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in major gift fundraising, preferably in the charitable sector.
  • Proven track record of success in securing major gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Knowledge of Raiser's Edge and other fundraising software, with proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Fluency in English, with French language skills an asset.
