We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Continuing Care Assistant to join our team at MacLeod House Baddeck. As a key member of our care team, you will provide hands-on care and support to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met. Your exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment will enable you to build strong relationships with our residents and their families.

Responsibilities:
  • Personal Care: Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, maintaining their personal hygiene and comfort.
  • Meal Services: Serve meal trays and feed patients, ensuring their dietary needs are met and promoting a positive dining experience.
  • Support with Mobility: Weigh, lift, turn, and position patients with care and precision, maintaining their mobility and independence.
  • Housekeeping and Maintenance: Make beds, maintain patients' rooms, and ensure the overall cleanliness and organization of the living space.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain a reliable inventory of supplies, ensuring the care team has the necessary resources to deliver exceptional care.
  • Transportation: Safely transport patients in wheelchairs or stretchers, prioritizing their comfort and safety.
  • First Aid and Emergency Response: Administer first aid in emergency situations, responding with empathy and expertise.
Requirements:
  • Certifications: Continuing Care Assistant Certification
  • Security and Safety: Adult Abuse Registry check
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, repetitive tasks, attention to detail, standing for extended periods, combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling
  • Personal Suitability: Client focus, dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, initiative, interpersonal awareness, judgement, organized, reliability, team player
  • Availability: Availability for shift or on-call work, residency in proximity to the advertised location, previous experience in the field, required certifications
