Job Title: Sous Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at KINGSGATE ESTATE WINERY LTD. as a key member of our culinary team.

Job Summary:

The Sous Chef will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including menu planning, food preparation, and staff supervision. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and organized individual to take on a leadership role and contribute to the success of our culinary team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, including cooks, chefs, and other kitchen workers.
  • Ensure high-quality food standards are maintained at all times.
  • Monitor inventory levels and manage kitchen supplies.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to plan and execute special events and banquets.
  • Develop and implement new recipes and menu items.
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Requirements:
  • 3 years of experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent position.
  • Proven track record of menu planning, food preparation, and staff supervision.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Cook Trade Certification and Safe Food Handling certificate.
