Job Title: Grounds Maintenance Specialist

Valard Construction LP is seeking an experienced Grounds Maintenance Specialist to join our team in Toronto, Ontario. As a leading utility contractor in Canada, we offer a unique opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from transmission and distribution to substations and renewable energy.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Grounds Maintenance Specialist to work on our utility construction projects. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience working on Toronto Hydro utility projects, a valid DZ license, and a clean driver's abstract. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, follow job requirements, and maintain a safe work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform groundwork tasks, including excavation, grading, and backfilling
  • Operate heavy equipment, such as excavators and dump trucks
  • Assist in the installation of utility infrastructure, including transmission lines and substations
  • Work at heights, in confined spaces, and in all types of weather conditions
  • Maintain a clean and organized work site

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent
  • Valid DZ license and clean driver's abstract
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working on Toronto Hydro utility projects
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical stamina to perform heavy labor tasks
