Marketing and Communications Director

About the Role:
Folklorama is seeking a highly motivated and experienced marketing and communications professional to join our team as the Director of Marketing, Communications and Development. Reporting to the Executive Director, this key member of the Folklorama Leadership Team will contribute to the success of all Folklorama business divisions and program areas, including Ethno-Cultural Arts, Group Tour Programs, Cultural Preservation Fund, and the annual flagship Folklorama Festival.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing and communication strategies to promote Folklorama's brand and programs.
- Manage and execute media buying, public and media relations, social media strategy, and website management to ensure brand integrity across all communications.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and other members of the Leadership Team to achieve business objectives and drive growth.
- Lead and manage a team of marketing and communications professionals to ensure effective execution of marketing and communication strategies.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in marketing and communications to ensure Folklorama remains competitive and innovative.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in marketing and communications, preferably in a non-profit or cultural organization.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and execute effective marketing and communication strategies.
- Strong analytical and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
