Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at Compass Canada. As a key member of our kitchen operations, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality food products to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Food Preparation: Prepare, pre-cook, and cook food products as directed, adhering to established corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations.
  • Mise en Place: Prepare 'mise en place' (setting in place of foods, garnishes, sauces, dishes, cutlery, etc.) and other products as required for high-volume production.
  • Cleanliness and Sanitation: Clean kitchen equipment after use according to health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Inventory Management: Label, date, store, and rotate food and beverage products in appropriate storage areas.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with all operational departments.
  • Reporting: Report needed maintenance, faulty equipment, or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
Requirements:
  • Culinary Experience: Proven cooking experience, including experience as a restaurant cook or prep cook.
  • Food Safety Certification: Food Safety Certification required.
  • Culinary Education: Certificate from a recognized cooking school.
  • Cooking Skills: Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Accuracy and Speed: Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiar with industry's best practices.
  • Teamwork: Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Physical Ability: Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
