Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Systems Supervisor to join our team at Shermco. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for supervising and mentoring other technicians, as well as performing electrical testing, repair, and maintenance in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and mentor other technicians to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Perform electrical testing, repair, and maintenance in the field, including inspecting, testing, and troubleshooting low, medium, and high-voltage electrical systems.
  • Inspect and test power transformers, relays, and other electrical equipment to ensure they are functioning properly.
  • Perform maintenance and repair work on substation equipment, including circuit breakers, brushes, and commutators.
  • Schedule and supervise the construction and testing of special devices and the implementation of unique monitoring and control systems.
  • Analyze test data to diagnose malfunctions and determine performance characteristics of systems.
  • Frequently travel to and perform field work at customer sites throughout the local and regional area.

Requirements:

  • A Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, degree in Electrical Engineering, PSE designation, or Red Seal Journeyman Electrician.
  • 8+ years of relevant power systems testing and maintenance experience.
  • Supervisory skills and experience desired.
  • NETA Certification or equivalent skills/experience to become NETA Certified.
  • OSHA 30 hour, MSHA, NFPA 70-E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED training preferred.
  • Must be willing to relocate to Vancouver for the period of time this position requires.
  • Must be able to work safely and adhere to all electrical safety procedures.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and able to maintain a clean abstract.
