About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Food Service Supervisor to join our team at Smitty's Restaurant and Lounge. As a key member of our kitchen operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our food service operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of food service staff, including food preparers and counter attendants.
    • Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures to maintain high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Operations Management
    • Establish methods to meet work schedules and ensure efficient use of resources.
    • Estimate ingredient and supply requirements for meal preparation and maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage.
    • Prepare and submit reports to management on a regular basis.
  • Customer Service
    • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards and address customer complaints or concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Knowledge and Skills
    • Have knowledge of the establishment's culinary genres and be able to maintain high standards of quality and presentation.
    • Be able to work under pressure and maintain a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a food service supervisory role.
  • Work Environment
    • Staff accommodation available.
    • Restaurant environment with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Personal Suitability
    • Client focus and excellent oral communication skills.
    • Efficient interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
    • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing situations.
