We're seeking a highly motivated and technically competent Geotechnical Engineer to join our local St. John's, NL office. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for preparing technical and price proposals, coordinating geotechnical field investigations, and managing geotechnical analysis and design assignments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing technical and price proposals for geotechnical service offerings
  • Coordinating and managing geotechnical field investigations, geotechnical analysis & design, materials testing, and construction supervision assignments
  • Coordinating with clients, contractors, consultants, suppliers, municipal staff, and other stakeholders to accomplish required project objectives
  • Maintaining monthly records per Canadian Council of Independent Laboratories (CCIL) requirements as CCIL Supervising Professional (SP) in maintaining laboratory CCIL certification
  • Reviewing and interpreting monitoring information from geotechnical instrumentation programs
  • Conducting detailed design and analysis for geotechnical projects
  • Coordinating and participating in field investigations and QA/QC inspections
  • Performing independent studies, analyses, interpretations, and conclusions
  • Writing and reviewing technical reports
  • Developing and maintaining business relationships with clients

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Geotechnical, Civil, or Geological Engineering with a post-graduate degree preferred, with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering
  • Member in good standing with Professional Engineers and Geoscientist of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL), or ability to register with PEGNL (designation is required)
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in Geotechnical and/or Civil engineering
  • Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including multi-tasking and prioritizing
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with standard construction procedures and methodologies
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle
