Company Overview

vviaSport BC is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting and developing amateur sport in British Columbia. We are seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead our team and drive the growth of amateur sports in the province.

Salary

CAD $200,000 - $250,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Job Summary

The Executive Director will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to viaSport BC, overseeing the implementation of our strategic plan, and building strong relationships with stakeholders, including government, funders, and community partners.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To develop and implement strategies to advance the objectives of viaSport BC, aligning with the provincial government's priorities and the sector's needs.
  • To build and maintain effective partnerships with government, funders, and community partners to secure funding and resources for viaSport BC.
  • To provide leadership and guidance to the viaSport BC team, ensuring that they have the necessary skills, knowledge, and resources to deliver their roles effectively.
  • To oversee the financial management of viaSport BC, ensuring that we meet our financial targets and maintain a sustainable financial model.
  • To champion the brand and promote the benefits of amateur sports to key stakeholders, including government, media, and the wider community.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 10 years of senior leadership experience in a relevant sector, preferably in the sporting or non-profit industry.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining effective partnerships with government, funders, and community partners.
  • Strong business acumen, with experience in financial management, fundraising, and revenue generation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams and stakeholders.
  • A master's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent in education and experience.
