Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager, Labour Relations to join our team at Walmart Canada. As a key member of our labour relations team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with legal requirements and corporate policies from a labour perspective.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage company response to local, market, and divisional level third-party organizing in retail, distribution, and other company facilities.
  • Direct efforts of first responders and other labor team members dispatched to other market facilities; manage readiness to respond to labor issues for multiple labor markets and in markets with an active third-party campaign.
  • Assess labour relations risks and challenges in assigned division or area by interpreting activity trends and supporting the analysis of opinion survey results.
  • Recommends and leads the implementation of best employment practices and communication strategies to divisional level operations teams.
  • Conducts and monitors compliance with management/supervisor labour training for metro-markets, new format facilities, and other locations.
Requirements
  • Bilingual - fluency in English and French.
  • 5-7 years' relevant experience in HR and/or labour relations.
  • 1-3 years' experience in retail operations is preferred.
  • 1-3 years' experience managing or administering collective bargaining agreements is preferred.
  • 1-3 years leadership experience.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills.
  • Strong influencing and presentation skills.
  • Highly adaptable with a passion for learning.
  • Able to travel as necessary to support the business, including overnight stays.
