About the Role:

The Family Enhancement Worker will provide critical support services to children and families in need, working closely with the community to prevent entry into the child welfare system. This dynamic role involves facilitating awareness, education, advocacy, and counseling to empower families and engage them in preventative service opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing case plans to address family needs
  • Coordinating resources and supports, including linkages to community programs and services
  • Facilitating awareness and education on child welfare issues and CFS legislation
  • Providing assessment, interviewing, and counseling skills to support families
  • Working collaboratively with staff, collaterals, and community partners to achieve desired outcomes

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Social Work Degree (BSW) or equivalent experience and training
  • Commitment to community-based service delivery and a strong understanding of First Nations culture and values
  • Assessment, interviewing, and counseling skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing workloads and meeting deadlines
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle required
