About the Role:

The Mental Health Aide will work as a collaborative member of the multidisciplinary team to provide a welcoming and safe care environment. This role involves assisting in the provision of direct patient/client care as delegated in a person-centered, recovery oriented and safe manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist and/or promote independence to patients/clients in completing activities of daily living
  • Assist other health professionals with providing treatments and observing and reporting relevant patient/client information
  • Assist new patients/clients and families with orientation
  • Assist in the general support of the work area

Requirements:

  • Completion of Grade 12
  • A combination of education and experience satisfactory to the employer

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Food Handling course
  • Knowledge related to the Not Criminally Responsible Due to Mental Disorder patients and applicable legislation
  • Knowledge regarding Calgary community agencies
  • Knowledge relating to recovery and rehabilitation
  • Connect Care training
