Job Summary:

Interior Health Authority is seeking a Relief Part Time Long-Term Care Coordinator DC2A in Kelowna, BC.

About the Role:

The Long-term Care Coordinator practices in accordance with professional standards and code of ethics as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), within a patient-centered care model.

This position supports seamless movement of individuals through the healthcare system and access to appropriate resources. It involves supervising, counseling, and educating families on clinical assessments and decision-making.

The Long-term Care Coordinator reviews and analyzes administrative systems, including policies, procedures, and standards of individual care. It also ensures adequate staffing levels and a continuous quality improvement environment.

Liaison with interdisciplinary teams for resource coordination and planning for staff educational needs is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate day-to-day operations and quality individual care within designated clinical areas.
  • Supervise staff and serve as a role model and resource for clinical decision-making, assessments, and family counseling.
  • Analyze and recommend administrative systems development, including policies, procedures, and standards of individual care.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the BCCNM.
  • Three years of recent related clinical experience in the assigned practice environment and two years recent supervisory and teaching experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
