Job Summary

SECURE is seeking a skilled Torch Yard Labourer to join our team at the Peace River Metals Recycling facility. As a key member of our fabrication and non-ferrous metals shop, you will be responsible for performing general duties, including operating basic hand tools, assisting machine operators and welders, and maintaining a clean work site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist welders in completing their assigned tasks, including grinding, buffing, and weld setup.
  • Operate welding equipment to refurbish SECURE's bins and containers.
  • Perform general housekeeping and organizing of the yard and facilities.
  • Participate in safety-related meetings, including daily tailgates and last-minute risk assessments.
  • Other duties and project-based work as required.

Requirements

  • 3 years of previous scrap/torch cutting experience preferred.
  • Experience with liquid oxygen, propane, and metallurgy considered an asset.
  • Safely and correctly use and maintain tools and equipment.
  • Ability to operate skid steers, lifts, forklifts, and other small equipment.
  • Competent and safe use of hand tools and power equipment.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including manual labor, moving containers, and other heavy materials.
  • Ability to follow SECURE's Workplace Health and Safety requirements relevant to the assigned work site.
  • Completes tasks with a sense of urgency while delivering safe and accurate results.
