About the Role

The Operational Patient Care Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of patient care services within Northern Zone facilities and NSH. Reporting directly to the Patient Access and Flow Manager, this position is responsible for coordinating bed management, responding to capacity/patient flow issues, emergency response, and supporting staff in accordance with Nova Scotia Health's mission and policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address challenges and achieve high-quality, safe, and cost-effective services.
  • Apply strategic thinking to manage operational issues, particularly those arising after hours.
  • Utilize software programs related to bed utilization, including the Patient Flow Dashboard (Tableau) and Meditech.
About You

We seek an individual with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a health-related discipline, coupled with 3-5 years of experience in acute care settings and 1-2 years in supervisory/leadership roles. Essential skills include leadership, planning, organization, time management, conflict resolution, negotiation, and proficiency in software applications.

Benefits

Successful candidates may be eligible for a competitive salary range of $40.15-$53.35 hourly, as well as our comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, plus a defined benefit pension plan. Additionally, successful candidates may receive a signing bonus with a defined Return of Service contract.
