Job Opportunity: Clinical Counsellor
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Clinical Counsellor to join our team at Lifemark Health Group. As a Clinical Counsellor, you will provide counselling services to clients referred privately, by employers, by various insurance companies, and other third-party organizations to address psychosocial problems related to injury, trauma, and mental illness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide goal-focussed, therapeutic counselling services to alleviate distress and improve social and occupational functioning.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences to discuss clients' treatment plans and goals, progress made to date, and any barriers to treatment.
- Deliver quality reporting and effective communication with all stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Counselling/Clinical Psychology from an accredited University.
- Registered with the BC Association of Clinical Counselors or with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Registered Clinical Counsellor.
- Experience in case conceptualization and treatment of a range of mental health symptoms with a variety of adult clients.
- Clinical knowledge in the areas of grief/loss, depression, anxiety, trauma, and adjustment issues.
- Knowledge of psychological management of chronic pain and concussive syndrome an asset.
- Training and experience with cognitive behavioural therapy approaches (e.g., CBT, ACT, CPT).
- Experience working as part of a multi/interdisciplinary team.
- Experience preparing assessment, progress, and discharge reports.
