The Industrial Millwright position at Canam Group is a rewarding opportunity for skilled professionals to excel in a dynamic steel fabrication environment. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, machinery, and control systems.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and licensed 433A Millwright certification holder who can work collaboratively with our team to maintain and improve plant facilities, machinery, and control systems. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical maintenance, a keen eye for detail, and excellent problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative, corrective, and redesign maintenance on industrial equipment and machinery, ensuring optimal plant operation and safety.
  • Support spare parts inventory management and work order business processes to maintain data quality in our database.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean working environment, adhering to all legislated and company health, safety, and environmental policies.
Requirements
  • Licensed 433A Millwright certification.
  • Working knowledge of MIG/ARC welding, lathe, milling machine, grinder, and hand tools.
  • Confident reading and interpreting mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Excellent communication, reading, and writing skills in English.
  • Familiarity with working at heights, lock-out tag-out procedures, and Lean manufacturing environments.
Physical Demands

This role requires the ability to stand continuously, frequent walking, and occasional sitting. You will perform a variety of physical activities, including pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying heavy objects (50-100 lb), climbing, crouching, kneeling, bending, and handling.

Work Environment

You will work in a steel fabrication environment with constant exposure to weather conditions, excessive noise levels, and vibrations. Regularly, you will be near moving mechanical parts and frequently exposed to fumes and airborne particles. Working at heights using aerial work platforms and near energized systems is also required.
