Job Summary


CRH Canada - Cement ON is seeking a Millwright Technician to join our team. As a Millwright Technician, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plant machinery, equipment, and tools.


Key Responsibilities



  • Install and repair plant machinery, equipment, and tools
  • Maintain equipment in proper operating condition
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and complete accurate reports
  • Remove outdated and unused equipment as assigned
  • Report any deficiencies to the supervisor
  • Perform housekeeping duties as assigned
  • Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines

Requirements



  • Completed Millwright Apprenticeship
  • Possess Industrial Millwright license
  • Ability to obtain a structural welding certificate
  • High school graduation or equivalent required
  • Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
  • Willingness to learn, training provided
  • Welding, cutting, and brazing on various types of metal as assigned
  • Read blueprints and layout drawings
  • Machining (lathes, milling machines, grinders)
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and identify problems with pumps, blowers, and compressors
  • Install, remove, troubleshoot, and repair bucket elevator and conveyor systems
  • Bearing lubrication, application, removal, and installation processes
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and identify problems with Hydraulic/pneumatic systems
  • Identify, select, and inspect proper rigging techniques
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and identify problems with gear drives
  • Alignment principles and tolerances
  • Work from service manuals and with OEM
  • Operate mobile equipment required to perform the job
  • Good written/oral communication skills

Working Conditions



  • Work in a shop environment as well as outdoor exposure throughout the plant
  • Mild exposure to cement dust, heat, cold, and noise requires compliance with specified safety guidelines and procedures
  • Exposure to high elevations of up to 250 feet in height
  • Exposure to all weather conditions
  • Normal operation of mobile equipment may result in jarring and vibratory exposure
