Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Activity Support Specialist to join our Adult Day Program team. In this role, you will play a vital part in enriching the lives of program participants by implementing engaging activities and providing personalized support.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop individualized service plans for each client, ensuring their unique needs and preferences are met.
- Implement, evaluate, and revise service plans to promote client well-being and progress.
- Plan and lead a variety of social and recreational programs that stimulate cognitive function, encourage socialization, and foster a sense of community.
- Actively participate in group activities, providing encouragement and support to clients.
- Assist clients with daily living activities as needed, promoting independence and dignity.
- Identify potential risks and implement appropriate interventions to ensure client safety and well-being.
- Collaborate effectively with other staff members to create a positive and supportive program environment.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in health care, social science, or recreation.
- Current First Aid, CPR, and Food Handler's certificates.
- Experience working with adults in a day program setting or with groups of clients.
- Demonstrated understanding of cognitive impairments and disabilities.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of community resources and support services.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to providing compassionate and person-centered care.
