Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Activity Support Specialist to join our Adult Day Program team. In this role, you will play a vital part in enriching the lives of program participants by implementing engaging activities and providing personalized support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop individualized service plans for each client, ensuring their unique needs and preferences are met.
  • Implement, evaluate, and revise service plans to promote client well-being and progress.
  • Plan and lead a variety of social and recreational programs that stimulate cognitive function, encourage socialization, and foster a sense of community.
  • Actively participate in group activities, providing encouragement and support to clients.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities as needed, promoting independence and dignity.
  • Identify potential risks and implement appropriate interventions to ensure client safety and well-being.
  • Collaborate effectively with other staff members to create a positive and supportive program environment.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Certificate in health care, social science, or recreation.
  • Current First Aid, CPR, and Food Handler's certificates.
  • Experience working with adults in a day program setting or with groups of clients.
  • Demonstrated understanding of cognitive impairments and disabilities.
