Support Specialist for Deafblind Individuals

Sensity Deafblind and Sensory Support Network of Canada is seeking a Support Specialist to join our team in Sudbury, ON. As a Support Specialist, you will work closely with individuals who are deafblind, providing them with the support and assistance they need to live independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support individuals in their daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and house cleaning.
- Use communication techniques to relay information and empower individuals to participate and be successful in all aspects of daily living.
- Provide personal care as required, including lifts and transfers, toileting, personal hygiene, and medication administration.
- Assist with developing and supporting individual goals and objectives.
- Ensure documentation and records are complete.
Requirements:
- Completion of a college diploma or certificate in the Intervenor for Deafblind Persons program or a related human services field.
- Experience supporting persons with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors.
- Experience supporting persons with mental health conditions.
- Communication in American Sign Language (ASL) or Signed Exact English (SEE).
- A valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, and a clean current driver's abstract.
