About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our team at Benkin Sheet Metal 2008 Ltd. As a key member of our fabrication department, you will be responsible for measuring and marking sheet metal according to templates, operating metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal, and inspecting products to ensure quality and conformity to specification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Measure and Mark Sheet Metal: Accurately measure and mark sheet metal according to templates and specifications.
  • Operate Metalworking Machines: Safely operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal.
  • Inspect Products: Inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specification.
  • Cut Materials: Cut materials using power tools or by hand.
  • Read and Interpret Blueprints: Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Recruit newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster, and support them with foreign credential recognition.
  • Mentorship Programs: Offer mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees.
  • Diversity and Cross-Cultural Training: Provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees.
  • Support for Indigenous People: Offer mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers, develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, and provide cultural competency training.
  • Support for Visible Minorities: Apply hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities, offer mentorship programs, and provide diversity and cross-cultural training.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate or diploma required.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Language: English language proficiency required.
  • Work Hours: 30 hours per week.
