Key Responsibilities- Measure and Mark Sheet Metal: Accurately measure and mark sheet metal according to templates and specifications.
- Operate Metalworking Machines: Safely operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape, or straighten sheet metal.
- Inspect Products: Inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specifications.
- Cut Materials: Cut materials using power tools or by hand, following established safety protocols.
- Read and Interpret Blueprints: Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements.
- Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this role.
- Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field is preferred.
- Recruitment and Support: Recruit and support newcomers and refugees who were displaced by a conflict or natural disaster.
- Credential Recognition: Assist with foreign credential recognition for newcomers and refugees.
- Mentorship Programs: Offer mentorship programs that pair newcomers and refugees with experienced employees.
- Diversity and Cross-Cultural Training: Provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and refugees.
- Mentorship and Coaching: Offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for Indigenous workers.
- Community Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, Indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations.
