We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant to join our team at N. S. Nijjar Professional Corporation.

Job Summary:

The Optometric Assistant will provide administrative support to our optometrists and assist with patient care. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about eye care and wants to gain experience in a fast-paced medical office environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer tests using equipment, instruct patients on test procedures, and record results.
  • Assist physicians in the assessment of patients.
  • Develop information materials for patients.
  • Operate ophthalmic testing and measuring instruments.
  • Apply and adjust casts, splints, and bandages.
  • Clean and maintain equipment.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment.
  • Perform general clerical duties.
  • Prepare and maintain cleanliness of collection areas.
  • Process files and paperwork.
  • Order supplies and equipment.
  • Organize and maintain inventory.
Requirements:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Organized and able to multitask.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a medical office environment.
  • Permanent position with 35 hours per week.
  • English language proficiency.
