Veterinarian - Animal Medicine Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Veterinarian to join our team at the Yellowknife Veterinary Clinic and Boutique.
With a competitive salary of $120,000 per annum, plus performance bonuses that can easily exceed $200,000 annually, this is an excellent opportunity for experienced professionals to broaden their skill set in animal medicine, surgery, and oral surgery/dentistry.
About the Role:
- As a Veterinarian, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, using your surgical and medical knowledge to handle a diverse caseload of patients.
- You will work closely with other members of the clinic staff, demonstrating strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Your duties will include diagnosing diseases and abnormal conditions in animals through physical examination and ancillary testing, as well as prescribing medications, dressing wounds, performing surgery, and administering anaesthetics.
- You will also be responsible for supervising veterinary technicians and assistants, educating the public about communicable diseases, and humanely euthanizing animals when mutually agreed upon by the patient's owners.
- In addition to these responsibilities, you will maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, including forms, reports, logs, and patient medical records.
Key Qualifications:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent.
- Completion of the North American Veterinary Licensing Exam (NAVLE).
- Veterinary license valid in the Northwest Territories.
- Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding veterinary code of ethics.

Clinic Hours:
- Monday: 9 AM – 8 PM
- Tuesday: 8 AM - 8 PM
- Wednesday: 8 AM – 8 PM
- Thursday: 8 AM – 8 PM
- Friday: 9 AM – 6 PM
- Saturday: 9 AM – 6 PM
- Sunday: CLOSED – Available for emergencies only.
