The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Executive Officer to lead our organization during a period of significant growth and expansion. As a strategic leader, you will be responsible for developing and implementing business strategies that drive improvements and operational efficiency. Your expertise will be essential in establishing a proactive approach to organizational change and development, while maintaining a strong relationship with our board of directors and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Management: Lead and manage the affairs of Harris Leadership Strategies in collaboration with the board and senior management team.
  2. Business Strategy: Develop business strategies/plans approved by the board to drive improvements and operational efficiency.
  3. Organizational Change: Establish and maintain a proactive approach to organizational change and development.
  4. Liaison and Communication: Act as a liaison, communicating effectively and keeping board directors informed on progress and significant issues.
  5. Market Development: Market the assets and opportunities at Harris Leadership Strategies to achieve optimal economic benefit and employment, and ensure alignment consistent with our mission, vision, and values.
  6. Spokesperson: Act as a spokesperson for the organization, while respecting the ongoing relationship with our community and stakeholders.
  7. Culture and Ethics: Foster a culture that promotes ethical practices, customer focus, and service, and encourages individual integrity.
  8. Guidance and Leadership: Provide guidance and leadership to executive leaders and stakeholders on matters relating to operations.
  9. Compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable provincial and federal regulations, including legal and business ethics affecting operations.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Education: Degree in business, administration, or related field, or equivalent experience – post-graduate/executive studies preferred.
  2. Experience: A career of progressively senior responsibilities, including 5+ years working as a senior executive leader and/or CEO.
  3. Financial Management: Experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets and implementing mission, vision, and values.
  4. Strategic Planning: Direct experience in strategic planning, business development, budget-planning, and project management, involving and delivering major transformation and growth.
  5. Corporate Finance: Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles.
  6. Business Functions: Familiarity with core business functions such as marketing, PR, sales, risk management, etc.
  7. Corporate Governance: In-depth knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices.
  8. Airport Experience: Previous experience working in privately managed airports, and/or public/private partnerships considered an asset.
  9. Leadership Skills: Ability to motivate others to achieve goals and objectives in a time-sensitive environment.
  10. Project Management: Resourceful with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and strong project management and prioritization skills.
  11. Communication Skills: Superior oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
  12. Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional business partners to achieve results.
  13. Work Ethic: Exceptional work ethic, professional integrity, and emotional intelligence.
