About the Role:

Care24Inc is seeking a skilled Developmental Service Worker to join our team. As a Developmental Service Worker, you will be responsible for providing support to clients in the community, including administrative and office activities, appraising clients' needs, and implementing life skills workshops.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administrative and office activities, including data entry and record-keeping
  • Appraise clients' needs and eligibility for specific services
  • Implement life skills workshops to support clients' development
  • Assess clients' relevant skill strengths and development needs
  • Develop, coordinate, and implement the delivery of specific services within the community
  • Provide suicide and crisis intervention support
  • Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses
  • Implement substance abuse treatment programs
  • Liaise with other social services agencies and healthcare providers involved with clients
  • Maintain program statistics for purposes of evaluation and research
  • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of treatment programs

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in government or community programs that support newcomers and refugees
  • Support newcomers and refugees with foreign credential recognition
  • Participate in government or community programs that support youth employment
  • Participate in government or community programs that support Indigenous people

Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience

Work Environment:

  • Permanent work term
  • 30 hours per week
  • English language
