Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at School District #45 (West Vancouver). As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of cleaning and minor tasks, including indoor and outdoor custodial duties, using a range of cleaning equipment.
  • Operate custodial equipment, such as automatic floor scrubbers and carpet extractors, to maintain the cleanliness of our facilities.
  • Perform minor maintenance duties, including replacing switch cover plates, resetting circuit breakers, and changing lamps in fixtures.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to ensure the efficient completion of tasks.
Requirements
  • Completion of high school up to and including Grade 10.
  • Building Service Worker Certificate.
  • Valid BC Driver's License.
  • Fire Safety Course.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Physical ability to perform the assigned duties.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Certification as Building Service Worker (Division I, III, IV) by Canadian Building Servicing Association.
  • Previous experience in the maintenance of commercial or school buildings.
  • Basic Computer Skills (e-mail).
  • Building Service Management Course.
  • Training in building trades.
